How to use it

01

Paste a page URL

Enter the full address of any page, such as a service page or blog post. You can check your own pages or a competitor’s.

02

Choose your market

Pick the country you want results for. Rankings differ between google.co.uk and other versions of Google, so check the market your customers search in. In the UK that’s almost always Google: more than 90% of UK searches happen there.

03

See every ranking

We list each keyword the page appears for in the top 100, with its position, recent movement, monthly search volume and the traffic it’s likely to bring.

How does a rank checker work?

A rank checker draws on a large database of Google search results. Millions of keywords are searched regularly in each country, and every page that appears in the top 100 is recorded along with its position. Monthly search volumes are added from Google’s own advertising data.

When you paste in a page URL, the checker finds every keyword that page ranks for in your chosen market and shows its position, how it has moved, its search volume and the traffic that position is likely to bring. The data comes from neutral searches rather than your own browser, so it isn’t skewed by your location or search history. UK businesses spent £17.9bn on search ads in 2025. Every keyword you rank for organically is traffic you don’t have to pay for.

FAQ

Keyword ranking questions, answered

Keyword ranking questions, answered

How do I check where my website ranks on Google?

Paste the URL of any page on your site into the checker above and choose your market. Searching Google yourself isn’t reliable, because results are personalised by your location, search history and device. Google Search Console is another free option: its Performance report shows the average position of your pages for the searches they appear in.

How can I improve my ranking for a keyword?

Make sure your page answers the search better than the pages above it. Use the keyword naturally in the title and headings, cover the topic in more depth, link to the page from other relevant pages on your site and earn links from other websites. Keywords already on page two are usually the quickest to move.

Can I check keyword rankings in Google Analytics?

Not directly. Google Analytics shows how visitors behave once they’re on your site, not where you rank. If you link it to Google Search Console you can see search queries and average positions inside Analytics, but a rank checker gives you a clearer view of specific keywords.

Why should I track keyword rankings?

Rankings show whether your SEO work is paying off long before it shows up in enquiries or sales. Tracking them helps you spot drops early, see which pages are close to page one and measure the effect of every change you make. Combined with search volumes, they also make traffic forecasting possible, so you can estimate what a better position is worth.

Is this rank checker free?

Yes. It’s free to use, with no sign-up or card details needed. Paste in any page URL, your own or a competitor’s, and see its rankings in seconds.

Does it check mobile rankings?

The checker shows rankings for your chosen country, without a separate switch for mobile and desktop. Google ranks pages mainly on their mobile version, so positions are usually very similar across devices. To compare the two for your own site, filter the Performance report in Google Search Console by device.

How we can help

Rankings tell you where you stand. Moving up takes a plan. Bold Digitals looks at the keywords your pages are close to winning, what the pages above you do better, and the content, technical and link improvements that will close the gap. We focus on the searches that bring in customers, not just traffic. Ofcom reports that around 30% of keyword searches now show an AI Overview, and people who see one click through less, so the clicks that are left are worth fighting for.
